EEG Video’s Bill McLaughlin to Present at IBC2019

EEG

EEG Video’s exhibition hall debut at IBC2019 will be accompanied by a live presentation from Bill McLaughlin, EEG’s VP of Product Development, at the event’s prestigious IP Showcase. This event features presentations and discussions from technology developers, solutions providers, and more about the state of IP in media.

On Saturday, September 14th, from 4-4:30 PM at the IP Showcase Theatre, McLaughlin will deliver a talk on “Subtitling and Ancillary Workflow with 2110-40.” His presentation will provide attendees with an updated tutorial on subtitling, closed captioning, and other ancillary data workflows using the ST 2110-40 standard. Topics he will cover include synchronization, merging of data from different sources, standards conversion, and differences between SDI, compressed IP, and uncompressed IP architectures.

McLaughlin, EEG, and the IP Showcase will also be promoting the JT-NM Tested program, which offers prospective purchasers of IP-based equipment greater, more documented insight into how vendor equipment aligns to the SMPTE ST 2110, ST 2059, and AMWA NMOS standards. Designed by the Joint Task Force on Networked Media, this program awards a JT-NM Tested badge to vendors who make equipment test results public and participate in interoperability and IP Showcase events. EEG has now received three JT-NM Tested badges for the Alta™ IP Video Caption Encoder, a live captioning and subtitling software solution for native SMPTE 2110 IP production workflows.
