The CB515 Caption Legalizer® ensures compliance of caption data with all HDTV captioning standards and fixes common errors introduced into closed captioning flows by frame-syncs, video ingest, playout servers, incomplete 608-to-708 translation, and SD-to-HD upconverters. All caption data input is regenerated into a standardized, fully-compliant CEA-608 and CEA-708 data stream, compatible with all MPEG encoder specs - a key benefit for broadcasters who ingest captioned material from a wide variety of original sources.
With the CB515 Caption Legalizer®, broadcasters can seamlessly bridge caption data from one video source to another, including cases where the videos do not match in frame rate or picture standard. Additional features of the CB515 also include the relocation of caption displays on the screen in response to GPI triggers (a legal requirement in cases where emergency crawls on the screen could be obscured by closed captioning).
With a wide input tolerance and tight output specification for maximum interoperability, the Caption Legalizer® is the optimal solution for difficult-to-debug captioning problems. Line number, packetization style, and more are easily standardized to meet the uncompromising standards of HD broadcasters for captions that are ready to air under any conditions.
