Alta 2110: Alta-2110 Enc v4.0.0 Deb10-12

Release Notes:

This is an installation package for the core Alta software that can be used to update an existing Alta-2110 virtual machine.

This package is for Debian 10-12 Virtual Machines. Please contact EEG Support to upgrade if you have an older Debian 8 VM.

Please also install the alta_rest_server package for version 2.56.0 or up. This update is found in the Alta Transport Stream section of the EEG Support download folders.

    • SCTE-104 message-filter contract pivoted to a single symbolic field scte104_message_filter_allow_list per architect's {F1, B} adjudication (2026-06-07). Tokens may be SCTE-104/SCTE-35 spec symbolic names (ST_CHAPTER_END, SIT_SPLICEEND_NORMAL, ...) OR backward-compatible numeric uint8_t values (decimal or hex). The encoder's adapter layer routes tokens to seg vs splice via prefix-based dispatch for symbolic names and vocabulary lookup for numeric values 
    • Boot-time SCTE-104 filter log enriched to emit symbolic+hex pairs (e.g., ST_CHAPTER_END(0x21), SIT_SPLICEEND_NORMAL(0x05)) in place of raw hex-only output

    • NMOS sender IS-05 activation no longer resets audio format (num_channels, sample_bits, sample_rate) to constructor defaults. Activations carrying no transport_file now correctly preserve the running configuration's format fields
    • Restored debian/postinst.ci (SUID setup for /usr/bin/eeg_icap_alta_encoder_2110 and terminal_timecode_reader) that was incorrectly removed during cleanup in commit 936d2ec. The file is load-bearing for CI .deb generation via the DEB_POSTINST template variable 
    • Renamed Makefile package scratch directory from debian/ to debian-pkg/ to avoid collision with the source-tree debian/ directory containing tracked postinst.ci. Prior behavior: make installer's rm -rf $(PACKAGE_DIR) would delete the tracked file as a build side-effect

How To Install

On up to date versions of the Alta configuration/management local website, you can go to the "Update" tab on the top. bar and load the ".deb" file directly in over the management interface.
